Popular resorts
in Bulgaria
Albena. Albena is situated in a
picturesque bay on the Black Sea coast, 30km from the city of Varna
and is a self-contained resor set on a wooded hillside and features a
long golden stretch of gently shelving fine-sand beach.
Golden Sands. The beach is by far
its biggest attraction, stretching beyond the resort and fringed by
sand dunes. The shelving sands and shallow sea are great for children
and water sports are available. A fairly hilly resort, it is also very
much a developing resort with new hotels opening each year.
Elenite. This peaceful resort
is situated just north of the largest resort on the Black Sea Coast,
Sunny Beach. This very traditional town consists of the Elenite
holiday village and two hotels, all set beside a stunning bay. The
outstanding bay of Elenite Beach offers clean, clear water and fine
sand
Nessebar. Built on the edge of a
peninsular, Nessebar has a long promenade which takes you from Sunny
Beach, through the new town and all the way into the old town with its
cobbled streets and remains of churches. The old town is a small
island connected with a bridge and is full of seafood restaurants,
museums and churches. The new area of Nessebar has cafes, shopping
facilities and more traditional restaurants.
Sunny Beach. Sunny Beach is the
most established holiday resort in Bulgaria, a hive of activity with a
variety of affordable restaurants, cocktail bars and clubs plus mini
golf and an aquapark. The Blue Flag beach runs to 7.5km of
golden sand, flanked by the Ermine and Balkan Mountains. New Nessebar
lies at the end of Sunny Beach.
St Vlas. Despite its chequered past, St. Vlas is now
a holiday spot but offering much quieter holidays than nearby. Just
a stroll from the centre, relax by a traditional fishing harbour
while old St. Vlas village sits in the hills beneath the majestic
Stara Planina mountains.
