The Canary Islands consist of seven larger islands including Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife, and a few smaller ones. The landscapes of each island differs. With a reliable climate and constant temperature through all the year and splendid beaches of fine sand, the Canaries offer a perfect break winter, spring, summer or autumn. Although the culture is mainly Spanish there are strong American and North-African influences.

Although geographically part of Africa, the Canaries are an autonomous region of Spain, subdivided into two provinces, with two capitals, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
