The magic of Portugal is summed up by its fantastic beaches, magnificent golf courses, outstanding castles, monuments and churches and a rich culture. The climate adds to making Portugal a favourite destination for the discerning tourist.
Portugal is one of the oldest countries in all Europe with traditions and architecture stretching back over the centuries. Lisbon is one of Europe's most unspoilt cities while the delights of Cascais and Sintra are just a short drive away.
The peace and tranquillity of the small villages built inside old castles walls or set in stunningly picturesque countryside can be breathtaking. More and more people are discovering Portugal. Portugal overflows with sights and pleasures. There's world-class golf courses, scuba-diving and the chance to visit historic Seville.
The Algarve, of course, is Portugal's favourite destination. Mile upon golden mile of sandy coast, restaurants and entertainment to suit all tastes and pockets and then of course, there is the golf. The Algarve is renowned throughout the world for its fine golf courses.
But try exploring the Lisbon Coast and taking in the seductive sights of numerous small resorts and villages. Seek out the lesser trodden path and discover the tiny villages of the Douro. Away from the mainland, Portugal offers the dramatic scenery of the floating garden known as Madeira - a flower-filled paradise isle.
And ofcourse there is the fabulous Azores. Great for vacations and situated 907 miles from the European coast and 2330 miles from North America, the Azores consists of nine islands and is divided into three groups: the eastern (São Miguel and Santa Maria islands), the central (Terceira, Graciosa, São Jorge, Pico and Faial islands), and the western (Corvo and Flores islands). Apart from international airports of Santa Maria, Ponta Delgada and Angra, there are flights to the islands operated by the regional airline SATA and ferry boats between the islands. The nine major Azorean Islands and the eight small Formigas extend for more than 600 km.
If you want to escape the tourism trail, Umbria is the  place for you. Beautiful old towns and rich culture mix with excellent cuisine and fine wines.
