on Tenerife
Costa Adeje.
Set within a broad natural harbour, and
enjoying a swathe of fine powdery sand, Costa Adeje is, for many,
the ultimate Tenerife resort - not too busy and boisterous, not too
remote and sleepy.
Costa del
Silencio. One of the first areas of
Tenerife to be specially developed for tourism, Costa del Silencio
is one of the islands most popular resorts and just 12km away from
Playa de las Americas it makes a great base. The small development
holds a harbour with a smart promenade.
Golf del Sur.
This quiet purpose built resort is
actually built around the island's championship golf course and
though tranquil, the resort's just 15 minutes away from the fun and
frolics of Playa de las Americas.
Callao Salvaje.
Callao Salvaje is on the west coast of
Tenerife, hidden away between neighbours Playa Paraiso and Playa de
La Arena, it's just a few kilometres from the infamous Playa de las
Americas. A mixture of sand and pebbles the main beach is small and
has a few good facilities.
Los Cristianos.
One of the most popular resorts on the
entire island of Tenerife, the artificial beaches, excellent
shopping opportunities and lively nightlife combine to make a good
resort which has managed to retain some tradtional fishing village
charm and typical Canarian architecture.
Los Gigantes.
This tranquil resort is a far cry from
the bright lights of its larger neighbours Playa de Las Americas and
Los Cristianos. This is not to say that you can't find somewhere to
let your hair down for while there are no discos or nightclubs in
Los Gigantes, there are bars in the heart of the town at the marina
that stay open late.
Santa Cruz de
Tenerife. The capital of Tenerife is
the second most populated city of the Canary Islands with more than
200,000 inhabitants.
Puerto de la Cruz.
The oldest of the tourist centres of the Canary
islands, For a century it has been a relaxing place by the sea for
those who look for a pleasant climate in an exceptionally beautiful
natural environment.
La Orotava.Lying
in the fertile valley of the same name, the streets and buildings
are monuments to its past cultural
splendor
La Laguna
San Cristobal de La Laguna. This is one of the main historical
towns of the Canary Islands. It was founded in 1497 on the shores of
a lake which finally dried up during the last century.
